Passers by

As my move to Brussels comes closer and closer, I become wistful. Will I be missing the golden-oragne light shades of our Cafe, the place where I’ve had my first Kaffee in Vienna and equally the place where I meet today one of my closest and dearest friends each time? Will I be missing the tastes from our restaurant, where I meet the girls on Saturdays’ late mornings and where I take all my visitors to? Will I be remembering the shadows of the old trees and the gnashing of the gravel under my shoes as I jog through my park? Will I be remembering my street?

‘We don’t own anything. We are just passers by here.’, is what Denis (Robert Redford) tells Karen (Meryl Streep) in Out of Africa. She’s made the naive attempt to call them her children, to name it her school

Will Vienna be remembering me?

  2. Mada, pls plan a trip to Luxembourg, it’s closer to Brussels than Vienna was to Prague 🙂 I would love to catch up on this topic en français bien sûr. Bisous!
